2012 Clean Pacific Conference

The CLEAN PACIFIC CONFERENCE is the premier West Coast Training Event and Exhibition focused on oil, hazmat spill, planning, prevention and response. The 2012 Clean Pacific Conference took place May 15-17, 2012 in Long Beach, CA. The theme was “Tsunamis, Spills, Shipwrecks – Meeting Multiple Pacific Challenges.”

General Sessions included the Task Force’s 2012 Legacy Awards and updates from state, provincial and federal agencies. Conference sessions followed four tracks: 1) Prevention; 2) Response & Operations; 3) Planning and Preparedness; and 4) Emerging Issues.

Pacific States/British Columbia Oil Spill Task Force member agency updates were provided on May 17 by Scott Schaefer for the California Office of Spill Prevention and Response, by Larry Hartig for the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, Cairine MacDonald for the British Columbia Ministry of Environment, Curtis Martin for the Hawaii Department of Health, Dale Jensen for the Washington Department of Ecology, and Mike Zollitsch for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
